Elevated Risk of Turbidity for Comox Valley Water System Next Week
The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is alerting Comox Valley water system users that it will be moving to its backup pump station from March 16 to 19, 2020 while BC Hydro completes its penstock fish screen cleaning. The backup station is located further downstream than the primary withdrawal location and is more susceptible to poor water quality during weather events.

He asked why the City is not considering building a brand new bridge. Your readers should be aware that our council is not making decisions on the Fifth Street Bridge lightly.

Poppy Fund Campaign kicks off with flag-raising ceremony at Courtenay city hall
Courtenay council members, Legion members, and a cadet joined Mayor Bob Wells (holding flag) outside city hall Friday afternoon for the annual raising of the Poppy Fund flag, signifying the beginning of this year’s Poppy Fund campaign. Volunteers will be at various retail outlets throughout the city selling commemorative poppies in advance of Remembrance Day.
Comox Valley Water Treatment Project
With funding secure, land acquisitions complete and a contractor in place, detailed planning and design is now underway for the Water Treatment Project. Construction officially broke ground with a kick-off event on October 30 next to the new pump station site on Comox Lake.
