Increased Accessibility for All
Increasing accessibility for all benefits our entire community. Soon after the last election I met with John Higginbotham and toured Courtenay in a scooter from Air Park to North Island College. It was clear that many of the streets and intersections were not designed for accessibility.
Open and Collaborative Governance
I know my biases and work hard to understand those with opposing views to create collaborative outcomes. Over the past 4 years I’ve seen the consequences of not listening which erodes trust and respect. I am passionate, but not polarizing. I advocate for my principles, but am not antagonistic.
Fiscal Responsibility
I am truly passionate about business and have seen how it can support and positively change our communities. I have worked hard as a business owner and working to assist other businesses and organizations.
Environmental Responsibility
I have been a strong supporter of the environment and have actively worked on projects to improve not only the preservation of our natural resources, but also their restoration.
Entrepreneurial Task Force
I will create a Task Force inviting the Chamber of Commerce and CVEDS as well as groups like LIFT Comox Valley and Startup Comox Valley. I will also invite entrepreneurs that have been successful as well as ones just starting up to make sure we include the perspectives across our community.
Smart City Initiatives
As your Mayor I will continue to pursue technologies to reduce costs, increase transparency and collaboration, and ensure we are using best in class systems to ensure the services we provide are running smoothly and efficiently.
East Courtenay Fire Hall
A fire hall would :
Improve response time for Fire Departments to arrive on scene
Improve the building code for houses constructed in East Courtenay
Reduce the cost of home insurance
