The City of Courtenay says the plan will focus on shaping the future of arts and culture by identifying gaps and opportunities in those services, and to support investment in them.
The goal is to support arts and culture for the next 10 years, with a draft of the plan having been presented to mayor and council at the September 25 council meeting.
As part of making this plan, a survey will be released for people to give their thoughts on the vision, goals, and objectives of this project.
Mayor Bob Wells says asking for your feedback helps ensure that they are getting it right.
“We recognize the value of arts and culture in building community identity and resilience and this plan lays out the city’s vision, goals and priorities for the future of arts and culture in Courtenay,” said Wells.
The city says you can take part in the survey online, or pick up paper copies either at City Hall, Comox Valley Centre for the Arts, Courtenay & District Museum and Paleontology Centre, Sid Williams Theatre, or Courtenay Library.
The survey will launch on October 8, and will be open until November 6.
