One of the current issues I feel passionate about is that the City of Courtenay stop its court action against Maple Pool Campground to evict its residents.
Since 2010, the City of Courtenay has tried repeatedly to evict the residents of Maple Pool citing dangerous conditions due to floods. However, since 2010 there has been no major flood and the owners of Maple Pool have worked tirelessly to ensure their residents can stay in their homes. Repeated attempts to work with the City of Courtenay have not resulted in an positive progress, but only with the City responding with Court action.
This is defining moment in Courtenay for the people to take a stand for Social Justice and stop the City of Courtenay from tearing the residents of Maple Pool from their homes. A vote for me will support the Residents of Maple Pool.
