Accessibility of All
Increasing accessibility for all benefits our entire community. Soon after the last election I met with John Higginbotham and toured Courtenay in a scooter from Air Park to North Island College. It was clear that many of the streets, intersections and public buildings were not designed for accessibility.
I helped link the city, as well as developers, to work with the Rick Hansen Foundation for certification of accessible projects which in turn can help fund them.

Comox Valley Water Treatment Project
With funding secure, land acquisitions complete and a contractor in place, detailed planning and design is now underway for the Water Treatment Project. Construction officially broke ground with a kick-off event on October 30 next to the new pump station site on Comox Lake.

Immigration pilot program helps drive economic growth in B.C.
B.C. has launched a new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot that is focused on attracting entrepreneurs from around the world to establish businesses in regional communities. This will help meet the communities’ economic development needs and encourage investments outside urban areas, says the Province.
Comox Valley Autism Centre opens its doors
The long-awaited Comox Valley Autism Centre has officially opened and Courtenay Mayor Bob Wells cut the ribbon to mark the occasion.
