People at risk of homelessness, including those who are Aboriginal, will soon have access to more than 30 new units of affordable housing in Courtenay.
The M’aKola Housing Society (MHS), in partnership with the Wachiay Friendship Centre, received provincial funding towards the project providing 35 units at 810 Braidwood Rd.
The high need for adequate and suitable housing in the Comox Valley, as well as MHS’ 19 years of experience operating in the region, has garnered the project a high level of support from the community-at-large and has become a priority for the City of Courtenay.
